    "story": "Zerros is a tiefling hellfire warlock. 6'4, dark ashen skin, silver hair, glowing red eyes, horns that make doorways a problem. He dresses like old money because he wants you to understand something before he opens his mouth. He wants you to know that the person standing in front of you is not someone you negotiate with. The fur collar, the tailored black coat, the heavy gold belt, the amulet. All of it says the same thing. I am in charge and you already know it.\n\nHe doesn't carry a weapon. Doesn't need one. His hands do the talking. Hellfire blasts, eldritch power, flames crawling across his fingers like they live there. He keeps a book on his belt and that book has more kills in it than most swords do.\n\nI've been playing Zerros on a Neverwinter Nights 2 persistent world server for years now and watching him go from a bitter tiefling with a grudge to the actual Zhentarim Dreadlord has been one of those experiences you can't really explain to people who don't RP. You just had to be there for it. Every alliance, every betrayal, every political play that got him closer to the seat of power happened in real time with real players on the other side of those decisions. Nothing was scripted. He earned that title session by session.\n\nThe thing people get wrong about him is they see the horns and the hellfire and they think he's just another evil warlock. He's not. I mean he IS. But there's more to it. He's compassionate to his own people. Tieflings, outcasts, anyone the world decided wasn't worth protecting. He looks after them. He builds something for them. And then he turns around and burns down whatever part of the world made them suffer in the first place. He hates the way things are and he has the power to change it and he is not gentle about it.\n\nHe's about 40. Not old, not young. The beard is trimmed and clean because he's a Dreadlord not a hermit. The scar over his left eye is from before the title, back when he was still climbing and people still thought they could stop him. He kept it as a reminder. Not of the wound. Of the fact that whoever gave it to him isn't around anymore.\n\nHe's the villain in someone else's story and the hero in his own and after years of playing him I still haven't figured out which one is true. That's why I keep logging in."
