Submitted character story

You are the wayfaring witness who chose the cart and the silver tongue because displacement taught you trust. What brought you back was the rage of being used, of learning your firelight made cover for someone else's theft. You help strangers because you cannot help the person you were in Embergate, seventeen and brilliant and expendable. Every stage you take, every story you chase, the table will remember you as the bard who turns performance into reckoning.

Defining moment: As a teen (17-18) I traveled to Embergate and fell in with a group of older performers, renegades, and rogues who were firebrands determined to make the Coinbarons look foolish. I performed a radical piece making fun of Governor Harl Tenwick and speaking out against his motto “In scarcity there is leverage”. My performance was mesmerizing but ended quickly when it was crashed by guards sent by the Coinbarons themselves. I managed to escape but became a fugitive and wanted person in that area. I was meant to meet up with my fellow revolutionaries but when I got to our secret meeting spot I found it completely empty and all that was left was a blank mask. I later discovered that while the guards were distracted by my performance a vault was broken into and something of great worth was taken. I was simply a bright and distracting mask in a much greater masquerade.

I left Embergate before I learned the whole truth, but I will return and find that truth again.

Can't stop helping strangers; Always chasing truth and stories; Always moving from place to place
