"story": "Weaver is what happened when Lisia, a night hag, took over the body and mind of Alakzen “Tathfein” Kilrret, a bard.\nTathfein was a drow elf born Alakzen Kilrret who grew up in the underbelly of a city of light, down in the dark depths. He was a normal kid obsessed with music and quickly took to playing instruments. He had a good family and decent life for a poor kid. When he was a teenager he would go to the underbelly and listen to the stories of adventurers and dream of an exciting life. He noticed that he drew negative reactions when people saw his jet black drow skin so he started to make a lotion that he would put on his skin to mask it as white, however, over extended use it turned his skin a pale blue gray. It was at this time that he started performing for money and earned his stage name “Tathfein” which meant “the blue minstrel”. He would eventually meet and marry a human woman, Iris, the daughter of a barkeep. At this point he was 105. They bought a cottage in the woods and settled down. They had no idea a night hag by the name of Lisia haunted those woods. Lisia began haunting Iris’ dreams eventually driving her to madness and luring her to her hut. Tathfein, waking from his trance found his wife gone and followed her footsteps right into Lisia’s hut. What he saw was Lisia straddling Iris’ corpse, feasting on her flesh. Tathfein reacted and grabbed the first thing he saw- a knife. He didn’t know Lisia had infused planar binding to it, hoping to use it to kill her abusive mother, Auntie Whisp. He lopped Lisia’s head off but she had enough time to react and draw all of her life force into her right eye. After crying over the corpse of his wife, Tathfein was filled with the uncontrollable desire to take a part of Lisia as she had taken a part of him, so he took her right eye as a trophy and kept it in a jar. Over the following weeks the eye whispered to him and poisoned his mind. He shut himself in and closed himself off to the world and all there was was the eye and its promises. It promised to bring dreams and memories of Iris and Tathfein could no longer control himself and he cut out his own eye and sewed the hag eye in. Immediately, Lisia took over, obviously having lied to Tathfein, and Alakzen “Tathfein” Kilrret was gone. But something happened that Lisia did not plan for, every single memory and every single experience that Tathfein had ever lived moved into her and bound to her. She could simultaneously experience the complete ecstasy of killing Iris and gorging on her flesh and the horror and agony of losing Iris (and being the monster that killed her), now the only person she ever loved in such a way. In an instant she experienced how the rest of the world saw her and just how cruel and vile she actually was. She was a monster. And she hated her mother the more for it. And she could remember the false nostalgia of people loving her, admiring her, and cheering for her and she immediately found herself longing for acceptance and love while rejecting and hating herself. In that moment, Lisia was also gone. And what remained was Weaver. A weaver of stories and songs and memories and dreams. Over the years that came, war broke out and Weaver found themselves running information for both sides. Whispering in the shadows. Counseling against sound judgment. A harbinger of doom. A wormtongue. Until they (the body) were around 250 years old and they were given an assignment. “Meet these other guys at this tavern, they’re good guys, they work for me. There’s gonna be a dwarf there, I need him alive, kill his guards.” And thus, Weaver found their party and found acceptance and is learning to come to terms with what they are and what they have done. \nWeaver draws on Lisia’s hag soul (evil divine soul sorcerer multiclass) for power as well as using her as almost a patron (warlock initiate)."
