Human / Fighter

Submitted character story
The Nox farm is one of the oldest in Glimmerdrift, and the Nox family has lived there since the founding of the town after which the region is named. Treya Nox is the oldest of 5 surviving children - with two sisters and two brothers in descending age. The 6th child, an eldest sister, died young under uncertain circumstances.
All the Noxes are hearty, salt of the Earth types, but Treya is heartier and saltier than many. She's strong and tireless in both field and tavern. In her village, any problem she can't overpower, she can outlast. Not the kind to start fights, she has ended more than her fair share of them.
While not trained in the arts of combat per-se, she learned to defend livestock from predators, and, occasionally, the weak in the village from the erstwhile bully when the militia was otherwise engaged. Some in the village have called her Tree, or Treya Ox, or other similar pejoratives, but never to her face.
Treya is an archetypal Rustic Warrior, bringing country common sense, decency, and a broad set of working skills to her adventures. What she lacks in formal training in weapons or armor, she makes up for in sheer resilience, versatility, and can-do attitude. She will instinctively try to interpose in a fight, especially one that is unbalanced - Treya can take a lot that other people can’t. She's situationally aware. She knows she can break most people in half, and that most can’t touch her, but also knows it won’t come to that if everyone is just good to each other.
Treya possesses a sense of wonder for the world, and a curiosity to learn about the peoples in it—even if their differences sometimes baffle her. It's one of the reasons she left Glimmerdrift "for a time," to see more of the world, which in the natural course of events allowed her to fall in with a band of nascent adventurers.
Treya began her adventuring career with a large but standard farm scythe as her main weapon. She’s accumulated more since then, but the scythe is preferred. Over time, she has, through luck and investment, gotten several enchantments on the scythe - and others who have seen it at work now call it Dreamrender (she does not). It is particularly effective against shadow, phantasmal, and dream oriented creatures or foes. The blade can also be rendered incorporeal and nearly invisible at her command, making the scythe look like (and be weilded like) an oddly curved quarterstaff.
Treya is imposing at a muscled 6'2", and yet with a decidedly woman-shape. She is quietly intimidating to those who value strength and physical stature - even to those larger than her. Strong-featured and robust, with a few arm and shoulder scars (mostly from work, a few from adventuring) she may not be classically attractive to the commoner, but has drawn the eye of more than one Joten.
Treya is a gentle giant who knows how to let loose - both for fun and when the chips are down. She will watch a given situation to determine if any kind of letting loose is called for - and which kind it might be.
