Tempest Domain Cleric of Umberlee
24 y/o Levistus Tiefling

BACKSTORY:

Growing up in Luskan, much less a scion of “The Siren of South Bank,” was a wildly different experience than how most children grow up throughout Faerûn. As the youngest of six children who shared the experience of lost, unknown, or nomadic fathers, Tempest, along with her siblings, has learned to embrace their strange family. Tempest lived up to her name in her youth, constantly getting into trouble through town and especially in The Siren’s Call with her more mischievous siblings, namely Nerina and Revel. Unfortunately, Tempest also learned the importance of looking out for yourself and your family in the harsh, and often lawless city, earning her a few scars and broken bones throughout her adolescence. This sort of upbringing culminated in the quick-witted, quick-tempered, and action-oriented Tempest today, turning to mercenary work as a settler of debts in Luskan, as well as the general North of Faerûn.

Similarly, a few of Tempest’s siblings have also turned to a free-spirited nature; Revel spending time doing odd jobs around Waterdeep, Ereven spending time on the waves in the footsteps of his lost Mother, and even Sylas, who occasionally makes trips along The Trade Way for the benefit of both his family and to attempt to amend the reputation of Luskan trading in other large cities. Tempest’s other siblings take pride in maintaining The Siren’s Call year round, and perhaps secretly hope that they won’t miss the day when the 8 years lost Captain Torren Wavebinder finally makes her way back home… No matter their current business, the siblings share a close and lively bond, and even those that wander always find themselves back in Luskan after too long, always back to The Siren’s Call.

Tempest left Luskan recently, having gotten a job to hunt down a weasel of a man who had made a run for it from Triboar after relinquishing his employers from the burden of their heavy coin purses. She now returns the man to his former employers for them to deal with as they see fit, as her Luskan background would argue, is absolutely none of her gods-damned business. After all, the job earned her enough gold for custom new armor, renewing her hopes of adventure and a bit of chaos.

CALL TO DIVINITY - UMBERLEE THE UNFORGIVING:

Tempest is a Tempest Domain Cleric, given her powers by Umberlee, The Wavemother; like many Luskan-born, the Windbinders give offerings and prayer to retain Umberlee’s mercy. Captain Torren Wavebinder instilled this respect for the Gods, specifically Umberlee, always sure to leave a generous percentage of her ill-gotten gains on the sea with the Temple of Red Sails in an effort to garner her favor on voyages to come. Though, perhaps not before her final voyage before she disappeared…

For Tempest, while Umberlee can be a cruel and unforgiving mistress, her dogma depicts the true nature of the living: nothing is free and everyone is out for themselves or lying. Loyalty comes with a price - after all, the best bonds forged are symbiotic, and when they aren’t, they break.

CHARACTER APPEARANCE:

Tempest is a pale-skinned tiefling and wears her short black hair with a fringe. Their horns are fully cased in gold, and sports many hanging gold earrings and hoops in her elongated, half-elven ears. She has piercing, golden eyes, reminiscent of the last rays of sun on the horizon. Tempest also has a septum, medusa, and an eyebrow piercing on her right side.

Tempest often wears a leather choker with a central moss aquamarine stone. Her armor is a fitted, stormy, deep emerald scale mail bodice that flares out slightly over her shoulders, with matching gauntlets that are overlapped with dark brown leather. The same leather makes up an underbust, as well as leather straps and side pouches around her waist. She wears dark black pants and boots, with golden greaves that rise up just above the knee. She also sports a golden elven cloak with intricate patterns across the silky fabric and along the hem lines. As far as weaponry, Tempest has a dark rapier with a golden guard and on her back rests a shield with golden etchings of a stormy sea across its center.

THE SIREN’S CALL // LUSCAN TAVERN:

A lively and at times a bit rowdy of a Tavern, with a flair reminiscent of the late Siren of South Bank. Nightly shows led by Nerina and other local dancers and performers are frequent, continuing the legacy The Siren left behind. Corvyre and Maren man the bar and customers, shielding the rowdy establishment from any needless damage and any hostile patrons.
