Suri Rose survived the night vampires killed her family and burned her home. She remembers being small enough to hide under the stairs and thinking that she could not die there. Everything since has been a way of making sure she never has to make that plea again.

She grew into a sorcerer who studies a fight like a chessboard. Fire is useful. So are ice, storms, shadows and a spell that buys someone one more breath. She likes having enough options that the person across from her starts worrying about the move she has not made yet.

In Darkmoor she has found a name attached to her family's murder, Lord Varrick, and a guest list for his next private supper. She is trying very hard to treat this as a problem she can solve. The ring she turns when she thinks was her mother's, and that makes it a little more personal than she likes to admit.
