Once upon a time, there was a craftsman. He had a dream of creating wonderful things for the world that would bring joy and happiness to whoever they fell into the hands of. But dreams don't always come true. Sometimes, despite our best efforts and intentions, things don't play out the way we hope. And sometimes those ways come to us as nightmares.
The craftsman made many beautiful things, toys, clothes, even little machines, all made to do wonderful things, but his hands, whatever they made, were always flawed in the same way. While the quality of the objects knew no equal, their functions were all twisted. A teddy bear's purpose is to protect and comfort children in need, but the craftsman's teddy bears hunted and harmed children! Ballet shoes are meant to entertain, his would only torture. Even a typewriter meant to create inspiring stories told nothing but horrific lies. No matter what he tried, how hard he tried, or how many times he tried, whatever the craftsman created would always do the opposite of their intended purpose.
Decades went by, and the craftsman's cursed and monstrous creations had scattered across the world, killing and tormenting whoever they found themselves in the possession of, and moving from one victim to another. Now nearing the end of his life and horrified by what he had done, the craftsman realized that there was only one thing he could do to undo the death and harm he had caused.
"If everything I create does the opposite of what I built it for, there is only one thing left I can make! If my hands turn my creations into monsters... Then it is a MONSTER I must make!"
And so, although doing so made his very soul cry in disgust and horror, he made one final creation. A creation that he hoped his hands would twist into something else. Miraculously, it worked! The monster's purpose of harm had been reversed, making it a protector! Hours after finishing her, the craftsman had died. And so, Strawberry left her father's workshop and set off to clean up her father's mess, to hunt for her brothers and sisters, and to destroy all of his cursed creations.
