Stagnation

Kalashtar / Blood Hunter

Submitted character story

A ripple went through the fabric, an inversion, a reversal, a pulling at a thread that shouldn't be touched. Stagnation had been seated, still, thinking, worrying. Plans and ideas circled through his dual mind like a whirlwind, neither side ever agreeing with the other. It had been ages since he last moved, even longer since his thoughts had last agreed, but then the shift happened, and both minds paused as he experienced existence for the first time in a long time, and damn did it feel good. But it wasn't long before his mind began to stall itself once more, returning to a familiar pace, yet it drew up old memories as well, memories of previous times, and something wrong. Just as that memory surfaced, as if it were a precursor to the truth, a twisting sensation pulled and ached at him from somewhere beyond his minds, beyond his flesh. For once, his minds agreed on a single thing, find Beast, she would help with decisions, would help fix this unraveling he felt.
