"story": "I love rabbits, and the moment I saw the Shifthinde Flooflin race and the Witchcraft Sorcerer subclass in a third party 5e book, I knew I had to make Silvelyn. A rabbit-like shapeshifter with strange luck magic felt like exactly the sort of character I wanted to play.\n\nAt first, she was just a concept I loved: small, clever, soft-looking but sharp-edged, with expressive ears and magic tied to karma, fortune, and misfortune. Then her background took shape, and she became so much more than that.\n\nSilvelyn was given to the witch Grieve as an infant, offered up by the community she was born into because they believed bad luck followed her. But Grieve did not use her as a sacrifice. She kept her. Named her. Raised her. Taught her to understand the strange current of luck that moved through her and to shape it instead of letting it spill out uncontrolled.\n\nGrieve became the only family Silvelyn had ever known. When she died, Silvelyn’s magic reached instinctively for the face she loved most, creating the elven form she still wears sometimes. It is a disguise, a tool, and a memorial all at once.\n\nWhat started as “rabbit character because I love rabbits” became a character about grief, survival, masks, love, and the strange ways people carry those they have lost. Silvelyn spoke to me because she is soft without being harmless, guarded without being cold, and lucky in the complicated way of someone who survived what should have broken her."
