She was supposed to be a throwaway character for a quick, forgettable job—a nameless Changeling Rogue hired to pick a lock, pocket the gold, and vanish back into the crowded city streets. But fate had a much more twisted sense of humor.
During that fateful one-shot heist deep within the Sunken Catacombs, her party triggered an ancient, corrupting ward. While the others panicked, Shade shifted her form, mimicked the posture of a long-dead high priest, and tricked the arcane puzzle into releasing its grip. In doing so, she accidentally bonded with a sentient, shadowy relic known as the Widowspear—an ethereal weapon that now binds itself to her very soul.
What started as a simple mercenary gig dragged her headfirst into the looming darkness of The Shadows of the Deep. Now at Level 5, the throwaway rogue is no longer running from her past; she is actively shaping the future, using her shifting identities and the lethal edge of the Widowspear to hunt down the deep-sea cults that threaten the surface world. She was meant to be temporary, but the shadows decided she was permanent.
