Elf / Ranger

Submitted character story
You are the ranger who learned too late that survival and honor are not the same currency. The Blackfen taught you patience, and the Iron Matron saw your calculations before you made them, because strategy is just another word for living with consequences before they arrive. What brought you back was the memory of her face when you delivered her to them, the sound of coin that still jangles in your pack like a rattling chain. You help strangers now not because you believe in redemption, but because you know precisely how it feels to be the thing someone regrets. Every arrow you loose in defense of the helpless is an apology you can never speak aloud, and the table will remember you as the one who protected everyone except the person who needed it most.
Defining moment: You remember the woman you tracked in the forest. The one running away. The one you regret finding and returning to those who hired you to track her. But … you needed the coin.
A stoic loner that somehow is always helping strangers
