Myst was the woman of mystery, the slayer of men, and the master of shadows. In her previous life, she was known as Lyra, and on Earth, her name had been Ashley. She had never sought out the life of a Champion, nor did she want to be drawn into Alverez's conflict. But when a mysterious goddess summoned her, she was thrust into a world of danger, responsibility, and power. Initially reluctant, Myst soon realized that her strength in the shadows and ability to manipulate the unseen made her a force to be reckoned with.
As the Hidden, Myst’s role as protector of Alverez weighed heavily on her, and as she navigated through treacherous battles and unraveling mysteries, she unlocked a darker persona capable of handling the horrors they faced. Though she may have been reluctant to accept her new fate, she took the mantle of leadership among the Champions, considering herself the driving force behind their victories. However, the weight of this responsibility plagued her mind constantly, pushing her to question if she could truly protect Alverez from the growing threats of the demonic forces.
Myst, known as Lyra in her previous life, had always been one to stay in the shadows—physically and metaphorically. On Earth, she went by the name Ashley, living where she never sought grandeur or fame. When she was summoned to Alverez by a mysterious goddess, Myst found herself thrust into the role of a Champion, a protector of a world she had no desire to be part of. Initially, she felt resentment toward her newfound responsibility, yet the trials she faced helped shape her into one of the most formidable members of the group.
Her journey in Alverez began with training in a lost dungeon, where she unlocked the latent powers of the previous Champion, the Hidden. She was quickly thrust into the conflict alongside the other Champions, traveling to Cindria, where they met the reptilian leader, Junthos. They learned of a mysterious cult attempting to break the seal containing the demons in the Malevolent Chasm.
Myst’s journey took her to Lost Hollow, where she encountered the lycurgans. It was there that she helped save citizens kidnapped by the cult, which was revealed to be conducting sacrificial rituals for an unknown purpose. This group was soon dubbed the Black-veined Cult, and Myst took the initiative in calling the shots during their mission, demonstrating her growing sense of leadership and strength. However, this conflict revealed her changing personality as she dealt with the cultists darkly and coldly.
In the Grand Harvest Festival, the Champions confronted and defeated the Great Beast, another victory that boosted their morale but revealed that their battle was far from over. Myst, always the strategist, was key in securing the ancient relics from the Reliquary of Eaglesrest and meeting Paldronog, one of the last dragons, in Dragonwallow. The encounter revealed to Myst her true potential and the power she wielded as part of the Champions.
Their battles didn’t stop there. After an introduction to the Pillars and the official unveiling of the Black-veined Cult/Cult of the Eternal, the Champions traveled to Rengoku, where Myst allied with Allanon, a Circle of the Lycan member. Together, they defeated the storm serpent that guarded the island, gaining Allanon as an invaluable ally. Myst’s expertise in stealth and her mastery over shadows helped ensure the success of their mission.
In the final stages of their journey, the Champions fended off the first wave of the demon army attacking Kono. They defeated Rhaegoroth, the Beastborne King, a Primordial Demon, returning him to the Malevolent Chasm. Despite the victories, Myst continued to wrestle with the weight of her leadership role, the psychological toll of constant battle, and the ever-growing darkness within her that fueled her actions.
