The Chronicles of
Flick “Mouse” Burrowdowns
As my mother tells it, I was born somewhere outside of Trialga with
my mother, Merrigold, delivering me in the wagon with the assistance
of my grandmother, Gerdie. My father, Ruffo, was driving the wagon
at a liesurely pace with my grandfather, Huffle, beside him on the
seat. My older siblings, Lily, Buffo, Squirrel, Belladonna, Yamo, and
Plip, in the smaller wagon hitched to the first.
This story is a very fitting given my childhood. I grew up on
the highways and byways of Tanris as part of a gypsy caravan.
It was a wonderful time, mind you, growing up within the
caravan. I've seen more places then the average person, and I
learned skills that have suited me well over the years. Thats not
to say I didn't have a childhood, no far from it. My six older
siblings, along with my four younger ones; Eucaliptis, Moxie,
Aloishus, and Bill: and myself would get up to all maner of miscief
and diversion.
But, as with all things, a child grows up and yearns for his own
experiences and adventures. And so, on the day of twentith birthday I
gathered my belongs, my faithful steed Ol' Swayback, and said
my farewells to the people who had been my family for so long.
Before I left, My grandparents on my mother's side, Keelo
and Flora Hiddlewillow, gifted me with a fine coat, a coin,
and a small golden piccalo. The coat was of very fine sueded
green dyed leather and I have always been told that it makes me
looks better. The coin was infact a magical item that my
grandfather Hiddlewillow had aquired on his travels long long ago.
He explained that when one is attunded to the magic of the coin,
all one needs to do is speak the command word “Fiddlesticks”
and the coin becomes a comfortable wagon that is drawn by a
painted wooden pony. The piccalo is simply a golden instrument, however it did make
the road seem less weary at times.
Since that day, I have lived the life of the excentric adventurer, delving into
dungeons, dodging deadly traps, and the taverns, oh lord the taverns.
Mouse's greatest accomplishments include such deeds as firing himself from a catapult at a dragon attacking the city. Sadly, he faceplanted directly in front of the dragon, in the dust. That initial distraction, and delivering the killing blow, led to the city being saved.
Or the time he threw his coin at a demon and yelled out fiddlesticks right before it caught it, essentially throwing a wagon at a demon.
