She enlisted as a soldier of Lung Wa as a young adult with dreams of life in the city and an honorable career keeping the peace. The reality she found was training to die slowing down an enemy, or to cut down common people for attempting to rise up. \n\nOn one final mission, she came face to face with a child, who looked just as she imagined she might have at that age. The child saw an imperial soldier, weapon at the ready. The next day Seong-Wu demanded to be allowed to resign, citing her own lack of fitness for combat. She froze up. She could not be trusted in battle. \nHer request was granted. \n\nShe returned home. Took an oath as a priestess of the god of the moon. Turned to a self-sufficient life as a hunter, away from others' possible judgment. Min Seong-Wu became a stranger to her own hometown, another strange creature of the Specterwood. Until disaster struck, and she could not turn away from those in need."
