Archetype: The Ledger Unwritten – She keeps records Death himself cannot close, patient as centuries, sharp as silver. "You are a Shadow Investigator, the kind who watches from Old Yost's Cart and waits for patterns to reveal themselves. What brought you back was the night Death touched your forehead and left you changed, able to hear what should be silent. Now you carry a library of voices no one else can catalog, and the weight of knowing your own ending remains unreadable. Every table will remember the vampire who turned an accident into a question worth spending lifetimes to answer."
Melinae grew up in an aristocratic household in a city of Undead species. She is a born vampire and the youngest of two Voron children. Although not noble by any means, the Voron family still had influence over Undead politics. They were most known for their personal library and fascination with the documentation of all kinds of history. Their family mantra: “znaniye - sila" or "knowledge is power.” Melinae always tried to maintain an air that she was the most intelligent person in any room she walked into.
She knew that the Unseen University in Anhk Morpork held a great deal of restricted knowledge. She told her family she was going to move to that metropolis to gain as much knowledge as she could; attempt to copy books from the wizard’s library for the family. All her efforts have been focused and patient, as she knows how knowledge like that is protected.
After 10 years of living in the city, Melinae was walking home when three shady folk attempted to mug her. She swiftly dealt with them; she knocked two unconscious and killed one to get a bloody snack. She suddenly felt something pass through her and then she could see the spirit of the man she was snacking on. And he was standing next to Death himself. She shouldn’t have been able to see them, but she could. Death was baffled himself and touched her forehead to put her asleep. After that night, she could hear the spirits of the dead, even though they had already been escorted by Death to the next step. Now she had an even more important reason to search that wizard’s library. What happened to her? Why could she harness the dead? And why did Death not know when her time was up?
