Leonin / Barbarian

Submitted character story
You are the barbarian who plans before the blood, who walked the traveled road and watched the Iron Matron with strategy instead of fury. The Quiet Strategist doesn't fit the roar everyone expects from a leonin, but you learned something in that darkness when steel and confusion stole your sight. What brought you back wasn't rage or vengeance but the specific sounds of your people dying, the exact crunch of bone you still can't identify as friend or foe. You carry names to find, but you also carry the terror of not knowing which limb struck you down, whether you were felled by the enemy or by your own in the chaos you couldn't see. At the table, they'll remember the barbarian who sharpened his mind when his claws weren't enough, who turns calculated because blind fury already failed him once.
Defining moment: Leocules awoke to the sounds of chaos. Shouts, the clashing of steel, and the screaming of children. Some sort of monstrosity was tearing its way through the Blackmane encampment, making swift work of anything in its path. Through the chaos, it was difficult to tell if there was one large creature devastating the camp or a small army of whatever they were. The movements were swift, precise, and near impossible to track. Without time to find a weapon, Leocules bared teeth and claws in his attempt to join the fight, flailing in the darkness towards the sounds of crunching bones and tearing skin. A stroke of misfortune, and a stray limb caught the brave fighter behind the eyes. Was it an ally striking in confusion? The enemy catching him by surprise?
