Submitted character story
Judatoth was an elven mage of noble birth, raised in privilege with access to the finest magical education and mentorship alongside his equally gifted brother. His life was one of academic excellence and disciplined study; he thrived within the boundaries of tradition and knowledge, never drawn to darkness or rebellion. That changed when an experiment went wrong, bringing punishment and shame. Too proud to return to the academy in disgrace, he fled, spending years wandering with companions he met along the way.
His greatest obstacle was himself; he could accept neither compromise nor praise from others. Blind to his own achievements, he failed to appreciate the friendships he had forged as the foundation of his life. Instead, he pursued the next spell, the next improvement, the next perfect incantation with flawless gestures. His relentless drive led him to create magical instructions of unparalleled complexity, which he studied and executed for years. In the end, his pursuit of perfection became his downfall, as these very instructions brought about his own demise.
