The Simple Life on Planet Oros
Before the scars and the chains, Jaga knew only the smell of turned earth and the warmth of his mother’s hearth. His people on Planet Oros had forgotten the blood-soaked glory of their ancestors; they were a peaceful, agrarian offshoot of the Saiyan race. Jaga was a gentle giant, scrawny for his massive seven-and-a-half-foot frame, working alongside his father, Garl, to harvest stellar-potatoes. His mother, Kysu, was the emotional anchor of the village, known for her fierce warmth and traditional weaving. Jaga’s life was quiet, small, and content.
The Iron Core Initiative
When the dread-ships of the Aegis Hegemony (or the dominant military force in your DM's world) landed, they spoke of an apocalyptic threat on the horizon. Jaga, driven by a simple, honest desire to protect his family, volunteered.
The military academy did not build Jaga’s power—it unlocked a dam. As the brutal training pushed his body to its absolute limits, his dormant Saiyan biology reacted. He underwent a terrifying physical metamorphosis; his frame broadened, his skin hardened, and his muscles packed on until he resembled a walking fortress of flesh and bone.
But with power came an insidious boredom. The thrill of the fight became a drug. To feel anything at all in combat, Jaga discarded his rifle and his blade. He began fighting bare-handed, craving the raw, visceral friction of flesh against flesh. He became the Hegemony's ghost—a monster they deployed to clear impossible warzones.
The Crucible of the Black Labs
Commander Vane, a cold, calculating tactician, realized Jaga was no ordinary soldier. He was a genetic anomaly. Jaga was transferred to the "Black Core"—a hidden facility dedicated to reviving the ancient, mythical transformations of his bloodline.
For months, Jaga was subjected to horrific bio-alchemy. They injected him with experimental serums, starved him, and dropped him into subterranean fighting pits against captured apex predators and extra-planar horrors. Jaga killed them all with his bare hands, but the spark the scientists wanted—the legendary primal rage—refused to ignite. He was too disciplined. Too controlled.
To break him, Commander Vane orchestrated a horrific test.
The Ash of Innocence
Deployed via drop-pod into a midnight warzone, Jaga was told he was purging a cell of dangerous insurgents. He tore through the defenses like a localized hurricane, shattering concrete and bone in the dark. It was only when the dust began to settle that the horrific truth dawned on him. The layout of the streets, the specific scent of the burning crops... it was his home. The Hegemony had deemed his peaceful village "expendable assets" to trigger their ultimate weapon.
Finding Kysu beneath the burning timbers of their home shattered Jaga's psyche. Her final words—blessing his strength and begging him to run—were the catalyst.
When Jaga looked up at the fractured moon through the smoke, something ancient and terrible woke up in his blood. His pupils vanished, his muscles tore against his own skin as they swelled even further, and a crimson, suffocating aura erupted from his body. The "piercing roar" wasn't just loud; it shattered every viewport within a three-mile radius. He didn't just kill the remaining soldiers; he leveled the valley.
The Bound Beast and the Escape
When the madness receded, Jaga was drowning in agony. The Hegemony had deployed heavy neuro-toxins and gravity-dampeners to subdue his exhausted body. They forged custom Titan-Iron shackles that drained his kinetic energy, and locked his jaws behind a heavy, sound-dampening iron mask to prevent him from channeling his ki or roaring again.
For over a year, Jaga was a phantom cargo, shifted from one dark-site transport to another, his body a canvas for agonizing magical and technological experimentation. They wanted to clone the rage. They wanted to weaponize the moon-curse.

The Escape:
Jaga’s chance came during a interstellar/interplanar transport. A rival faction (or perhaps space pirates/adventurers) ambushed the prison vessel. As the ship’s power grid failed, the kinetic-draining properties of Jaga's chains flickered for a mere three seconds.
Three seconds was all the Saiyan needed.
With a surge of pure, adrenaline-fueled hatred, Jaga shattered his arm-bindings, ripped the iron mask from his face—tearing his own skin in the process—and slaughtered the remaining guards.
