Harengon / Ranger

Submitted character story
You are the ranger who measures heroism not in glory, but in the strangers who make it home because you were there. You rode Old Yost's Cart because you know the value of steady ground beneath uncertain feet, the same way you became The Quiet Strategist against the Iron Matron, choosing patience over spectacle. What brought you back was the weight of your father's body and the owlbear's blood on your hands, the moment a child became the protector he'd always followed. But here's what the party doesn't see: every stranger you save is an attempt to rewrite the one time you arrived too late, and that debt never decreases no matter how many you pull from the fire. They'll remember you as the one who always had the right arrow, but you'll know it's because you've been choosing your shot since the day precision became the only thing between loss and survival.
Defining moment: When he followed his father, Peter Cottontail, on one of his adventures. The young Hazel silently kept up with him until the worn adventurer came upon his destination. An owlbear den. The ranger and the monstrosity fought viciously, until Peter was felled by the beast. Grievously injured, the owlbear was unable to fight back as Hazel landed the finishing blow to avenge his father.
Can't stop helping strangers
