Submitted character story
You are the guardian who earned the title the hard way, by burying the one who held it before. When you chose Old Yost's cart over faster roads, you proved what your father already knew: protection means traveling at the pace of those who need you most. The disease that took him left you with a blade, a duty, and a mother who depends on the coin you earn standing where he once stood. But every stranger you help is another night you're not home, another promise you keep to a dead man instead of the living woman who raised you both. They'll remember you as the fighter who never needed glory, just a reason to draw steel that his father would have respected.
Defining moment: Harbrouck's Father instilled in him a strong sense of honor and duty. He exemplified these traits in his role as a town guardsman. When disease took him, Harbrouck took up his Father's sword and joined the guardsmen to make money so he could care for his Mother.
Can't stop helping strangers
