Submitted character story
Gwydion Trilby was never meant to be a hero of songs and legends—at least not in the way others imagine. Born into a family bound by knowledge, trade, and an unfinished legacy, he grew up surrounded not by glory, but by responsibility. In the halls of learning and among ancient theories, he discovered that the world is not shaped by strength alone, but by understanding.
Rather than seeking battle, Gwydion chose the path of a scholar and traveler. He learned to listen before acting, to negotiate before striking, and to see connections where others saw only chaos. Yet the weight of his lineage followed him everywhere—the broken network of teleportation circles his ancestor once built became both his burden and his purpose.
His journey truly began when he joined a band of unlikely companions. Among them, he found something unexpected: not just allies, but a sense of belonging. Though he often stands in the background, avoiding conflict and leadership, his knowledge and quiet resolve have guided the group through dangers far greater than any one of them could face alone.
From ancient ruins hidden beneath mountains to battles against necromantic forces, Gwydion has seen how fragile the world truly is. He does not fight for glory, nor for power—but for preservation. Of knowledge, of connections, of people.
Because in the end, Gwydion believes one simple truth:
no great work is ever achieved alone.
And so he walks on—staff in hand, mind ever searching—trying to rebuild what was lost, one discovery at a time.
