Flynn Varros grew up with a modest life living in a unremarkable small village. His parents, Gideon and Sasha, managed the local general store. Although born to human parents, by some stroke of fate Flynn carried celestial blood of unknown origin. His fair skin bore a golden sheen, his hair a polished copper. His gold gem eyes seemed just slightly too large, his features too angular. As he grew in years, golden antlers sprouted from his forehead, curling gracefully backwards.

Unfortunately, these inhuman features invoked the ridicule of the town's other youths. (An even more cruel irony of this, is his twin sister Olivia bore similar features, albeit in a silver motif, and was adored for her beauty.) Flynn chose to take a high road, however, and did not lash out violently. He cultivated his mind, became clever and charming, taught himself various instruments, learned the history and mythology of the world, and eventually developed a handful of arcane tricks.

It wasn't long before the small town could no longer satisfy his curiosity and wanderlust. His sister had already departed to join a priestly order across the kingdom, and while an organization of such official sanction did not appeal to him, he nevertheless felt it was time he seek his own calling. He took up instrument, blade, and simple traveling garb, setting out on his own to find whatever adventure he happened to stumble across.
