Born to a priestess of Lolth and Drow soldier, Filraen spent his early years in the city of Menzoberranzan where he was taught the ways of Drow society and how to act. Sometime after his 6th birthday Filraen was spirited out of the city by his father to hopefully make it to the surface so they could live better lives. Unfortunately his father perished on the journey out of the underdark, but Fil still managed to make it out alive. Through either luck or divine intervention he found his way to the city of Waterdeep, here he had to learn to survive on his own. Until he was caught stealing by a high elf who offered to teach him how to better survive and eventually offering him a home. Thanks to this Filraen joined the thieves guild at a young age and began a life of crime, though he considered it a life of freedom. Shortly after his 24th birthday he set out making his way to the frontier town of Phandalin where he would meet quite the interesting group of adventurers. These adventurers little did he know would change the course of his life for the better, or worse in some ways.
