Elowyn Norvael

Elven Vampire Spawn / Rogue

Elowyn Norvael

Submitted character story

Elowyn was born in a small manor on the outskirts of Waterdeep to Eldon and Nimsy Norwood- an elven couple whose family has been living in the city for generations. She was born after her parents had all but given up hope of having a child of their own. Because of this she was their whole world and grew up surrounded by the love and warmth of family. She grew up to be a well educated and intelligent young woman thanks to the support of her loving family. She went on to briefly hold the position of magistrate watch until one fateful night changed everything. She was walking home late from the courthouse one night after a particularly rough trial when she ran into him- Fenris Blackthorne. At the time his name meant little to her- he was just another noble in the city. But from that night onward she was his spawn- the first of many to come. The nearly two centuries of torment and control that would follow have left scars that she’ll never forget, some visible and others hiding just beneath the surface

There is little if anything left of the person she once was, though at times hints may bleed through. Her personality is a tapestry woven from charm, wit, pain, and the desperate hunger for freedom and safety that she hasn’t known for nearly two centuries. She carries herself with theatrical elegance, always ready with a clever retort or witty jab to keep others at an arm’s length. Her humor is sharp-edged, often cruel, and dry, but it rarely cuts without purpose. But beneath that practiced mask is a deeply wounded soul. Her trauma runs like a current beneath her words and actions. Her pursuit of power and control isn’t greed—it’s a survival mechanism, an attempt to reclaim the agency she was so violently denied. She’s cunning, strategic, and rarely above manipulation, but not inherently cruel. Her moral compass is... fluid. Not because she lacks empathy, but because survival has always demanded that she prioritize herself. When she begins to trust others- when she begins to care- she does so cautiously, almost reluctantly, as though afraid of what it will cost her. But for those she comes to care for, she is fiercely loyal, even if she struggles to say so plainly. Despite her jaded cynicism, there is a buried yearning in her- for connection that isn’t transactional, for a self that isn’t defined by what others want from her, for a life that isn’t stolen moment to moment in the dark
