"story": "Defining moment:\nI’d been on streets for a long time. I’m only 20 but I’ve been on the run for 9 of those years. I did whatever I needed to stay alive and in doing so I’ve met some interesting company. I tend to sleep alone, away from everyone. I’d hate to wake them up in the night when the dreams come. I still remember that horrible night. \n\nMy sister looking at me as she grinned in the top bunk bed I was supposed to be in. The slow motion chill of watching her fall over the edge. The way my mother cried as she cradled her limp body. My father standing stiffly, shaking my shoulders, as he asked me how it happened. Me grabbing my backpack and running out the door, tears still streaming down my face as I wept. I couldn’t stay there and deal with the guilt but I can’t outrun the memories. \n\nI’d been surviving on my own since. When I was 16 I tried to steal from the offering box in the temple. I got caught by one of the priests there and instead of turning me in they saw me for what I truly was: a young girl who needed help. They sat me down for the best meal I’d eaten in the 4 years since I left home and let me sleep in the dorm that night. The next morning they told me all about God and I joined the church that evening. My powers started showing shortly after that. I had an affinity for helping others but I couldn’t always control it. I couldn’t stand the thought of anyone else getting hurt so I set out to learn more about my abilities and see if I could earn some coin and do some good in the process.\n\nArchetype: You're the The Penitent Compass. She guards others from the fall she survived, blade drawn against fate.\n\nPersonality: Can't stop helping strangers, but slow to trust those close to her."
