Dreamerya was a gentle child in a village that could only see a demon's daughter. She left for the deep forest and became the thing they warned their children about. Intruders vanished. The trees around her sanctuary grew strong. People still came to ask for wishes or offer a bargain, and some of them understood what a soul was worth.

A nearby druid circle accepted her as a guardian. Then a wounded adventurer stumbled into her care and stayed. They had seven children together, and for a while she learned that loving a human could be worth more than feeding on one. She became the person who made sure everyone had eaten and pretended not to notice when someone needed a second blanket.

Her husband is dead now. She left the children with the druids after years of learning their ways, and she is looking for the people who killed him. She will still offer a stranger a warm meal. Anyone who threatens that small kindness gets to meet the older part of her.
