"story": "Corwyn was my very first long-term character, and I played him for several years as an adolescent -45 years ago. His concept, which was foreign in old school D&D, was to be a \"Paladin of Chaotic Good\". In the modern era there is really no restriction on such a thing, but back then it was not part of the rules or lore I knew, so I forged him as best I could as a Ranger following the path of Good - even (and sometimes especially) if that path got you dirty. My little group ran old 1980's modules and created a host of home-grown wilderness and dungeon adventures, and in the classic style gained followers, cleared a stretch of wilderness, and established a holding, and built a keep.\n\nCorwyn has scale armor from a dragon he and his companions (one an Elf wizard, one a Winged Folk archer) defeated, and a woven-crystal bastard sword.\n\nWhen I played him, Corwyn was about twice my age. Today, Corwyn is years older but now still half my age, and I see him from the other side. His holdings have grown. His adventures now include the occasional martial challenge, but more often comprise the political intrigue with neighboring protectorates and kingdoms."
