Ayre

Half-Elf / Sorcerer/Monk

Ayre

Submitted character story

Defining moment:
Ayre was raised to be controlled, polished, and useful. In her family, power was not something you questioned. It was something you mastered, displayed, and never embarrassed anyone with. As a half-elf born into an Ascended bloodline, she was expected to shine in all the right ways.
Then came the assessment.
When Ayre touched the Harmonite crystal, it did not glow with clean Ascended light. It fractured. Prism fire burst through the chamber, wild and ancient, bending every color in the room around her. For one terrible moment, Ayre could not tell where her body ended and the magic began. Someone screamed. Someone fell. And every face watching her changed.

After that day, Ayre learned what fear really felt like. Not fear of monsters. Fear of herself.

She ran from her own power until her father found her training alone in the dark, bruised hands wrapped too tight, trying to beat control into her body. He did not tell her she was safe. He taught her how to become steady. Breath by breath. Step by step. Strike by strike.

Now Ayre walks the world with a staff in hand, a crystal at her wrist, and her hood pulled low. She is still afraid of what lives inside her.

But fear is information.

And Ayre is done letting fear give orders.
