Defining moment:
My wife Jess and I were always a team ever since we were little, always adventuring until we had a daughter Hannah. For a time we stopped but when people started disappearing from the village we were hired to investigate, found a cult of wizards held up in a near by temple performing some sort of ritual. While trying to get a better look I lost my footing and gave away our position, a fight broke out and the leader fired some spell at me, my wife jumped in front and we both got hit. I woke up acouple days, later no cult, no wife just the living shadow that follows me as evidence of how I failed that day.
