Dhampir / Cleric

Submitted character story
You are a healer who investigates before you intervene, a Shadow Investigator who learned trust through scars. The night you tried to save a stranger and woke up changed taught you compassion has consequences. Now you walk between two worlds, neither living nor dead, offering help to people who might never accept it if they knew what you are. Your table will remember the cleric who asked the hardest questions and still chose mercy every time.
Defining moment: The night I tried to help someone I shouldn't have. I knew little about him, but could not leave him to die when he was attacked by the chantry. He needed help, and I couldn't just leave. I should have. But I didn't.
This was long ago, before I was strong enough to fight back. And yet I tried to fight back anyways. I don't remember much of that night. Just pain, warmth fading to cold. It hurt so bad, and then it didn't hurt anymore. I just felt so tired.
He got away, that was a relief. But I don't think I did. I only woke up some time later, unsure of how I survived, or if I did. Just that something was changed, and I didn't know whether to be thankful, or curse whoever had saved me.
Can't stop helping strangers
