Aereal

Elf / Paladin

Submitted character story

You are a paladin who takes the Blackfen route, who prepares in silence before striking with precision. What brought you back was the night you chose to become the answer to broken promises. You carry the weight of every alliance forged in shared betrayal, every life spent purchasing your freedom. Tables will remember you as the reckoning that arrives patient, deliberate, and impossibly sharp.

Defining moment: The noble that had been betrothed to her promised her that he would take care of her, ensure that she would want for nothing. She had believed him...until her husband helped to destroy her family and steal their fortune for himself. When she confronted him, he threatened her with the same fate if she did not cooperate.

Instead she prepared in secret, learning to perfect the sword fighting she had initially been taught by her uncle, her two-weapon technique taught by a ranger who had been wronged by the noble, but remained in his employ.

Once she was ready, Aereal and the ranger moved against her husband, killing him during a peasant coup they had initiated. The ranger lost his life in the fight, but she escaped with her life and a small fortune. Justice had been done, and she committed herself that night to bring justice where there was none with her burgeoning martial might.
