Defining moment:
Memories of Aelie and her sister being sold to the slave trader by their aunt after being told they were nothing but a burden. 
Watching the master that bought them die by Aelie’s hand after trying to get into her sisters bed, listening as he choked his last breaths on his own blood. Hearing her sister make the same sound as she sided from an illness.
When the man who became her teacher caught her picking his pockets, and being a master thief himself decided to teach her. He saw her potential and wanted to mould her to be the best thief ever whispered about.
Ever stolen item, ever body that fell at her hand, every chase, every moment that led her to be who she is.
