You are the Bold Hero who charges forward because hesitation dishonors the fallen. What brought you back was the lightning-scented memory of a Songblade and the century you spent becoming worthy of reclaiming it. But revenge is a lonely teacher, and you've trained so long for three deaths that the world beyond them feels like a foreign language. Your table will remember the wizard who knew exactly what they were hunting, and never once looked away.
Defining moment: As one of the original founding cities of the Empire of Cormanthyr, the fabled elven city of Myth Drannor is the origin of the elven tradition of Bladesong. Over the history of Faerun, this ancient elven city has had a tumultuous journey of rises and falls. Myth Drannor, in all of its incarnations, has been renowned for its powerful magic users and wondrous items that date past even prior to the fall of Karsus. Some of the most storied magical items are the Elven Songblades, vastly powerfully enchanted Elevn Thinblades crafted for only the most skilled Bladesingers.
In all of the incarnations of Myth Drannor the art of Bladesong has always been a pinnacle of elven society and culture. In the latest incarnation this tradition has remained strong, and one of the most renowned Bladesingers is Aela Illanna Tahlarea. Illanna’s skill with the Blade and her mastery of the Weave won her one of the fabled Bladeswords. Illanna’s blade was forged of the deepest darksteel, shinining a in a purpilish hue when drawn would crackle with lightning an waft the scent of ozone. Lady Tahlarea was a honored member of the Knights in the Order of Myth Drannor. When She was well into her third centerury she met and fell in love with one of Cormmanthyr’s finest Bards. Aela Tahlarea fell smitten with Ia Giludrim Selwyn’s musical personality and prodigious artistic acumen. As the couple grew tired of the xenophobic and isolationist direction of the city, the two decided towed and they joined the famed adventuring group The Soaring Pegasi. As members of the Soaring Pegasi they traveling the length of the Sword Coast, and mingled with the many races of Faerun.
Eliaro Tahlarea was born to two of Myth Drannor’s most accomplished elven journeymen. His Mother and Father were both adventurers from the elven city of Myth Drannor. His Mother Aela Illanna Tahlarea was a Knight in the Order of Myth Drannor and a master of the ancient elven tradition of Bladesong, and the owner of one of the eight fabled Elven Songblades . His Father Ia Giludrim Selwyn, classically trained in the Bard school of Creation. When Eliaro was born his Mother and Father left their adventuring group The Soaring Pegasi and traveled the Sword Coast procuring and selling mythical and hard to obtain items. His worldly parents, intentionally exposed Eliaro to the many cultures of Toril to try and prevent Eliaro from developing the xenophobia common among many Myth Drannoriean Elven Lords and Ladies. When Eliaro was in his second decade, still a young child by elven standards, his parents' caravan was ambushed. The leader of the Ambush was a Fallen Eldritch Knight and a Bladesinger who coveted the Elven Songblades. Ia Maiae Voleth broke from the tradition of one on one duels for the ownership of the Songblades. Voleth employed a Hobgoblin mercenary band in his pursuit to acquire a Songblade . Voleth and his two compatriots, a Red Dragonborn Blackguard and a Gomish Clockwork Soul Sorcerer, ambushed Aela Illanna Tahlarea while the Goblinoid band fought the small retinue of Guards and Eliaro’s father.
Aela Illanna fought valiantly, slaying the Blackguard and with the use of her Songblade held back the Gnome and fallen Bladsinger for a time. However the numbers proved too much, as she was delivering a grievous wound to the Gnome she was struck from behind by Voleth. Elairo, who was hiding beneath the wagon, witnessed the death of his Mother. As Voleth picked up Illanna’s Songblade, Elairo in a fit of rage picked up a short sword from a fallen Hobgoblin and rushed Maiae. Maiae, who was in awe of finally achieving his goal, was too distracted to notice the charge of the enraged elf until the last moment, taking a stinging blow across his chest. The wellspring of emotion was the catalyst for Elario to cast his first ever cantrip, The Booming Blade. Maiae, in a weakened state from his battle with Illanna, was rendered immobile by Elario’s cantrip. As the villain was immobile, Gildurim and the remaining guards rushed to his son’s side. The evil Gnomb seeing that their goal was in hand and sorely outnumbered by the on rushing troops, used the last of his power to use a dimensional door to escape with Voleth and the fallen Dragonborn, abandoning the expendable goblinoids to their fate.
After the death of Illanna, a mournful Giludrim brought Elario back to Myth Drannor and retired. Once Elario came of age, his father enrolled him in the Academy of Bladesong. Elario, in reverence to his mother and thirsty for revenge, threw himself into his studies at the academy to become a Bladesinger and a Knight in the Order of Myth Drannor. Elario trained for a century to attain the title of Ael, and to be called a Bladesinger. His every waking moment was spent in training with sword and Spell, so that he could track down and avenge the death of his Mother.
After his promotion from squire to Knight he embarked on a quest of vengeance. To achieve his goals of vengeance, he formed an adventuring group. He embarked on a quest to acquire three items of power to kill his mother’s elven rivals, the resurrected Dragonborn Blackguard, the Clockwork Soul, and to put an end to the Hobgoblin Mercenary Band. Ael Elario Tahlarea and his band of adventures are in search of one of the lost Elven Songblades, a set of Illusionist’s Bracer , and a Robe of the Archmage.
